Production-ready HTML head tags in 20 seconds — paste your page title, description, URL, and image, and we'll generate the full block: SEO meta, Open Graph (Facebook, LinkedIn), Twitter Cards, canonical, robots, and theme-color. Copy, paste into your <head>, ship. The free Smallseotools / Moz meta tag generator alternative.

What is a meta tag generator?

Meta tags are the HTML snippets that live in your page's <head> and tell search engines + social networks what your page is about. A meta tag generator builds the right ones for you — title, description, Open Graph (Facebook, LinkedIn), Twitter Cards, canonical URL, robots directives — so you don't have to remember the spec. Paste in your details, copy the output, paste into your page's <head>. Done.

Why every page needs Open Graph + Twitter Card tags

Without OG tags, your link previews on Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, WhatsApp, iMessage, and Discord show up as ugly grey rectangles with no image, no description, and a stripped-down title. With OG tags, you get a beautiful card with your image, headline, and pitch. CTR on social shares typically lifts 2-5x. Twitter Card tags do the same for X.com. Both are non-negotiable in 2026.

Title + meta description = SERP click-through-rate

Your <title> and <meta description> are what Google shows on the search results page. A well-written title (50-60 chars) + description (140-160 chars) lifts organic CTR 30-100% over generic defaults. Our generator validates length in real time so you never get truncated by Google.

Free, open-source, no signup — forever

Smallseotools, Moz and Sistrix all sell their SEO suites on paid subscriptions. The meta tag generator is a 20-line helper buried in their paid plans. We give you the same output free, forever, with no signup — and every generated block links back to our /backlinks and /da-checker tools so you can validate your SEO afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

What is a meta tag generator?
A meta tag generator builds the HTML <head> tags that tell search engines and social networks what your page is about — title, description, Open Graph (Facebook, LinkedIn), Twitter Cards, canonical URL, robots, and theme-color. Paste in your page details, copy the generated block, paste into your <head>. Done in 20 seconds.
What's the ideal length for title and description tags?
Title: 50-60 characters (Google truncates at ~580px which is roughly 60 chars). Description: 140-160 characters (Google truncates at ~920px). Our generator shows live character + pixel counts so you never overshoot. Going under is fine for CTR; going over loses the tail of your message.
Do I need Open Graph and Twitter Cards on every page?
Yes — on every shareable page. Without OG/Twitter tags, social previews on Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, WhatsApp, iMessage, X.com and Discord render as plain grey rectangles with no image. With them, you get a rich card that lifts share CTR 2-5x. They're free to add and there's no downside.
Are meta keywords still useful for SEO?
No. Google has not used the <meta name="keywords"> tag for ranking since 2009 (publicly confirmed by Matt Cutts). Bing also ignores it. Our generator omits it by default. The tags that DO still matter: title, description, canonical, robots, Open Graph, Twitter Card, theme-color.
Is this generator the same as Smallseotools or Moz?
Output is identical — these are all standardized HTML tags defined by W3C, Facebook (ogp.me), and Twitter (developer.x.com/en/docs/twitter-for-websites/cards). We just don't put it behind a subscription. No signup, no ads, and every page links back to our free DA Checker and Backlinks Checker for after-you-paste validation.
